What a Whammy
I went in for Herceptin yesterday and thought it would be my typical 30 minute procedure. I was wrong. Since it had been 3 months since my last treatment they had to give me a bolus drip (3 times the amount) to restart me again and that was scheduled to last 1.5 hours. I went into convulsions and chills about 1 hour into the procedure (just like the first time I received the drug) and we had to stop for 45 minutes and then start up again at a much slower drip rate. Once it was all said and done they held me 30 minutes for observations (I went alone - next time I know to bring someone with me). All in all I was there 4.5 hours. Needless to say I was exhausted when I came home. It felt great to sleep and in and I feel Ok this morning. On a good note, they scheduled 3 more Hercpetin treatments for me before I get another MUGA...

Hi Cheryl,
Your dad sent us your blogger site at Christmas time but until tonight, I had not checked it out. We had no idea that you were going through such a tough time. I took the time, because I am truly interested, to read your current postings as well as your old ones and am amazed at how you have bounced back through such difficult times. It seems as though God keeps giving you the strength and great sense of humor to get through whatever the day presents.
Please know that Jack and I have been praying for you and will continue to do so even more fervently.
Your old friends,
Jack and Ann Irwin
PS You look adorable in your pictures, with or without hair.

Cheryl,
You're still the toughest and bravest woman I have ever met.
You remain in my prayers and you'll be in my thoughts often as The Passover approaches.
Mark's "Wife #2" picture captures your smile and spirit wonderfully.

Cheryl,
Glad I took the time to check your blog. Seems you are making regular improvements but with all those "little" difficulties. I thought it was kinda funny that you were having a MUGA, as I just returned from Spain and one of my favorite wines while there was named "Muga". Had never heard the expression before....?
Keep making all those little improvements and for us who check in once and a while, it looks like BIG improvements... You looked lovely in the photo's. Best to all.
Ed
