Another Herceptin Treatement
I had another Hercpetin treatment yesterday and am happy to report that there were no side effects. I have been battling an upper respiratory infection this week and seem to have slipped backward a bit today, but that may just be due to being tired.
The weekend before I had the privilege of attending a breast cancer retreat sponsored by Johns Hopkins called "returning to nature." It was a wonderful weekend. We went bird watching, canoeing and hiking. The other women were so supportive. There were even a few close to my age with young children - which is sad. The retreat was open to anyone who has completed the bulk of their treatment within the last three years.
This week I returned from a one week whirlwind visit to see my brother and his family in Tokyo. It was so wonderful to meet my two nephews (2 and 3 years old) for the first time and see my niece Gabby (6 years old) again. Mark was a saint and held down the fort in my absence.
I have an appointment with my plastic surgeon on the 10th of May for a consultation regarding my reconstructive surgery. I will update the blog after that meeting.

Cheryl,
Just wanted you to know that I do still check on you and think of you often. My good will, positive thoughts and best wishes are always directed your way. It sounds like your progress is continuing (sometimes some steps backward, but always more steps forward). You know you have my support and if there is ever anything I can do for you (and family), just ask.... Really....
Be well my friend, and I look forward to the day when you will close this blog, and maybe start a new one that is all about the "rest of your life"....
Ed R.
