Still Fighting the Infection

It has been a week since I saw the doctor and the infection is still not better. I called Hopkins last night and they said as long as I was not running a fever I was OK. Otherwise, a trip to the ER was in order. I think this morning the wound looks a bit smaller so want to hold off one more day before I call the doctors office. It does not hurt as bad as it could as the breast area where the incision lies is somewhat numb. I on the other hand I am somewhat achy from the infection and went to bed at 8:30 last night. I plan on doing that again tonight. On the plus side, I am walking more upright now :-)

Back in the Saddle Again

It has been three weeks since my surgery. I am happy to report that I am back at work - although not quite full-time. I feel great in the morning, but start to hurt by the afternoon. By the evening I am walking around hunched over like a little old lady. Thank gosh for pain medication. At least, I am sleeping well :-) The surgery went well and can be considered a success. The only complication is a slight infection and I see the doctor tomorrow to check it out. Over all, it will be weeks before I am completely healed. On the upshot, my tummy is much flatter and I now have cleavage again.
